Listen to some great live jazz and folk music by Alex Martin Quartet in Brentwood, University Park’s got it’s tre fun UPES PTA Silent Auction happening on Saturday (all welcome!), Roadside Attractions Galore at HyBall in Hyattsville, Mount Rainier’s got Welcome to Sis’s, a local story set in the 1940s and more – all this weekend along our amazing Route 1 Corridor! Friday Near Route 1

Listening Room Music Series: Alex Martin Quartet 
Have you caught a show at the Brentwood Arts Exchange yet? It’s a great, local, intimate space to hear live music – and by great local musicians like Alex Martin & friends! Vocalist, songwriter, jazz drummer & more present original scores, folk melodies & musical settings of poems. Lots of entertainment packed into one program!

Saturday Near Route 1

Ballet: Swan Lake
A classic ballet story told through compelling dance, passion & athleticism. Presented by the Ballet Theatre of Maryland. A Russian masterpiece not to be missed!

Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Love story set in France in the 1700s. Described as subtle yet thrilling. See what happens as the lives of two women intertwined, the portrait becoming a collaborative act of & testament to their love.

Ally Theatre Company’s Welcome to Sis’s 
Local story set in the 1940s. See how a community survives racism & local dividing lines which still affects us today. The spot to be this Friday night is Sis’s Tavern. A powerful performance you don’t want to miss!

GNS Spaghetti Dinner + Auction
We will be featuring great food, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Some of the prizes include a week at a Chincoteague Vacation home, Washington Nationals tickets, and a Liberty Mountain ski package.

University Park Elementary School PTA Silent Auction
Food, libations, friendly neighbors and your chance to bid on cool things like wine tastings and catered dinners, sports and theater tickets & more – all while supporting a great local public school!

AFRO BLUE: We Will Overcome (All Ages)
A CD release concert! Featuring a wide variety of music. Songs from the Civil Rights Era, originals, Big Band sounds, & unique jazz versions of contemporary tunes!

Chronicles of the African American Journey Through Fiber Arts 
Come witness the stories & experiences of African American lives told through the arts. Quilts, felt, sewing, beading & more! Worth the trip!
When: 10am-5pm

Exhibition: Paul Henderson Photos from the Civil Rights Era 
Catch this traveling exhibit while you can! Get a glimpse @ daily lives of African-Americans. Over four decades of photography capturing the Civil Rights Movement & community in mid-20th century Baltimore.

Frida Kahlo Two Museum Art Tour: NMWA & NPG
Lucky ducks, it’s community day! No museum charge AND you get to see two authentic Frida paintings @ two fab local museums! Learn more about Frida as you explore her works on this walking tour!
When: 4-6pm, museum open until 7pm to continue looking

Get in a groove w/ an all-start cast of Baltimore’s American musicians. Lovers of classical country music, this is for you! Groove, twang, & ‘sky high Dolly Parton-esque harmonies’. Come check it out!
