🧹 🧻 🍎 Good (Saturday) morning! Time for Grocery Store Update. Noticing trends: Better results shopping early morning (though check our post re special shopping days/hours for seniors and immunocompromised so that don’t overlap), Target Express in College Park is well-stocked and not crowded; the CVS in College Park Shopping Center also seems to be well-stocked and few shoppers. @yesorganic in Hyattsville appears to be well-stocked and good with social distancing as does @h.glut in Mount Rainer. @wholefoods in Riverdale Park is good w/ sanitizing shopping carts though inventory can be spotty. Shoppers in College Park (by IKEA) consistently gets good feedback re inventory. Ok. I have now become a grocery store expert. 🤦♀️ Good morning and please report back, folks!

Sarah T shares: “MOMs in CP was super well stocked this week and social distancing was easy when I went late — around 8pm. They had eggs and tofu!!”
Info on Hyattsville Aldi via Jennie R: “Ups and downs at Hamilton St. Aldi’s on 4/10: employees outside are cleaning and managing the carts, also admitting only a few shoppers at a time so the store is not crowded. Many items restocked (not TP). So yay. But a parking lot section–incredibly–is closed for repaving today, causing traffic problems. The outside wait was about 15 minutes.”
Maria P shares: “MOM’s Organic Market on NY Ave has good sanitation practices—hand sanitizer and wipes available for use as soon as you walk in the door, all carts are being sanitized after use, everyone is wearing masks, markings on the floor in the checkout line. As of 6pm yesterday beans, pasta, TP, milk and eggs in stock. Low on flour, rice, frozen pizzas. Decent amount of produce. They also have matzo.
If you BYO shopping bags (as I usually do), you can use them but you’ll have to bag your own groceries.”
Alayna W shares: “Giant in Hyattsville, across from the mall, is low on some stuff but I got almost everything on my 2 lists (my house and grandmother’s). They were restocking the large packs of papertowels at 8 am. Eggs were running low. They have arrows on the floor so it’s supposed to be one way to facilitate movement and minimize crowding. There was also a “customer count” book at the front door so I suspect they are gearing up to limit the number of shoppers. DC started this already.”
