Need to get some work done but could use a change of scenery? Then Route One Fun reader Kate G. has a recommendation for you: Drive to your local PGCMLS parking lot – where free, drive-up WiFi is available 24/7! And if you happen to go to the New Carrollton branch, here’s a scenery change you can look forward to, all from the comfort of your front seat:

Ahhhh. Now isn’t this view better than the one from your busy kitchen table?
PGCMLS Free Parking Lot WiFi
From the PGCMLS website: “WiFi is accessible from all PGCMLS parking lots and the exterior of permanent and temporary PGCMLS facilities (except for pop-up locations and branches that are under construction: Surratts-Clinton and Hyattsville). Drive up to your local branch to check email, download eBooks or audiobooks, use online resources, or access community resources online.”
You’ll need a library card number to log-in. Don’t have one yet? No worries. Check on this post on how to apply for a virtual PGCMLS library card here.
Kate helpfully shares: “Be sure to choose the library WiFi that includes the word “public” as the others are for staff. YouTube is allowed, but restrictions apply on inappropriate sites. Their full website policy is on the main county library page.” Thanks, Kate!
