It’s going to be chilly but fun events like Holy Redeemer’s Harvest Bazaar, Greenbelt’s MakerSpace’s Marshmallow Shooters and St. Martin’s Day Lantern Festival will keep everyone warm and fuzzy! 🙂 Also, with PGCPS out on Friday, including a number of great picks for the elementary and middle-school crew that day.

FRIDAY
Paper Flutes (Ages 3-5)
Making music is easy, you just need a little paper! Join us as we make paper flutes. Super easy activity you and your toddler will enjoy. Registration required.

ABC’s of Yoga (Ages 2-12)
This is an interactive wellness initiative as children learn from the book “ABC’s of Yoga!” Yoga and positive affirmations! Can bring mat but one is not needed. Space is limited so RSVP! Drop off a donation towards hurricane relief during this event!
Little Makers! Marshmallow Shooters (Ages 2-6)
It’s time again for “Little Makers!”, the Greenbelt Makerspace’s project where children work together with their parents/caretakers to craft, create, invent, and explore! Just bring your ideas and creativity – we’ll provide the materials this week to make some marshmallow shooters!
When: 5-6:30pm
Come craft a birdhouse and add your decorative flair. Also, learn about the birds that inhabit our area and the benefits of these creatures to our environment. Call 301-277-2124 to register.

Marshmallow Catapult Quest (Ages 10-17)
Come learn about engineering and have fun in the process! You will build a small catapult and compete to launch your marshmallow ammunition the farthest and most accurately.

Scout Time at the Beyond Needleart Exhibit
All ranks of Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will do fiber art crafts, and visit our current exhibit, Beyond Needleart, featuring beautiful fiber artworks of all kinds.

Bilingual Nature Hike (Esp/Eng)
Come and enjoy a bilingual nature hike at Patuxent. Learn about the trees and animals that call Patuxent their “Casa” (home). Hike around Cash Lake and learn to identify nature in Spanish and English.

Open Gym at PG Sports & Learning Complex
If you haven’t checked this place out yet with your energetic 1-12 year old(s), then let this be the day! This place is really great. HUGE. Two climbing walls. Two foam pits. Tons of equipment for curious ones to explore and blow off some steam. Very clean. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents are required to be on the floor with the children (Maximum 3 child:1 adult).

Full S.T.E.A.M Ahead! (All Ages)
Explore arts & sciences 19th century-style with hands-on activities throughout the house. Decode messages written in Morse Code and learn to sign your name in Braille! After your investigation is complete, you can also design your own parachute! Call to register: 301-864-0420

Take Flight with CPAM!

National Harbor Tree Lighting Ceremony

St. Martin’s Day Lantern Festival (Best for ages 3+)
Local volunteer Birgit Meade will lead a traditional German celebration which involves making beautiful paper lanterns and culminates in an outdoor walk at twilight. Your family will love this annual tradition!
