FRIDAY
Small Fry Club – Animal Amore
Join us for Stories, games, and crafts for the little ones. This month’s theme is Animal Amoré! Come and learn about animal courtship displays and behavior.

Storytime PopUp! @ The Waterhole
Storytime tucked inside a delicious juice bar in Mount Rainier! Curious? Check out my post about Storytime here. While in Mt. Rainier, why not fill out your morning with a visit to the nearby Nature Center (also free!). Storytime best for ages 0-3. Nature Center good for all ages.

Super Saver Ice Skating!
Huge indoor ice skating rink with a warming hut and a snack bar – what else do you need?! We did this before & enjoyed it; they have these plastic push things (words…?) to guide a beginner along.
When: 3:15-5:15pm

SATURDAY
Posh Kids Yoga Class (Ages 6+)
Kids can learn how to focus with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner and group poses, lots of yoga games, breathing, and basic anatomy.

HMB Winter Soccer Program – Practice and Learn Soccer Skills! (Ages 4-14)
In this week’s session, work on offense, defense, crosses, shooting and finishing.
When: U6 and U8 will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m; U10 and U14 will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Nature Craft (Ages 2-10)
Go green with your creativity! Nature provides an abundance of materials and inspiration for making art. Join us at the Nature Center for a seasonal or nature-themed story, meet a live animal featured in the story and complete a craft to take home.

Family Day
Visit the annual Black History Month exhibition and engage in a range of activities for all ages. Activities will include storytelling, guided tours of the exhibition, and a special art activity based on Jacob Lawrence’s historic Migration series.
When: 12-4pm

Unshrink My Heart Valentines Workshop
Create handmade Valentine keepsakes for your love ones using Shrinky Dinks amazing, shrinkable sheets. Craft your own jewelry, key chains, and any other Valentine’s Day gift you can imagine.

Smithsonian Valentine’s Day Card Workshop
Homemade love is in the air at the annual Valentine’s Day Card Workshop at the National Postal Museum! Create handmade heartfelt cards to send to your loved ones. Suitable for all ages.

Milkboy Arthouse Arts Drop-in: Suncatchers and Mobiles
Adults and kids alike are welcome to take part in fun arts projects facilitated by arts specialist Aaron Springer. Bring the family, take a seat, order brunch and get started on your project. You’ll leave MilkBoy ArtHouse with a full stomach–and an artistic memento from your experience.

Takoma Park’s 9th Annual Mid-Winter Play Day
All kinds of activities, performances by the band Groove Quest, Simon Says led by Congressman Raskin, refreshments, etc. (Free Zumbini classes at 1:30pm, 2:30pm & 3:30pm as well as family zumba at 2pm & 3pm.)
