Mark your calendar: College Park Day is happening Saturday, October 6th from 12-6pm at the College Park Aviation Museum! Hosted by the City of College Park, this event brings together neighbors and friends for a fun-filled day that wonderfully showcases College Park. With free admission, live music, fun activities for kids and adults, local vendors, local food and craft beer as well as helpful information from local organizations – there’s really something for everyone at this year’s College Park Day!

2018 marks the 9th anniversary of College Park Day (and our fourth time at this fun event)! College Park Day is where we first witnessed the amazing acrobatics of Gymkana, where we learned a ton about all the great local businesses and organizations we have in our area, where our kids played on bouncy houses, painted pumpkins, danced to some zydeco jams and where they high-fived Testudo, like this wee one from last year’s College Park Day! Read on for a sneak peek on who and what will be at this year’s College Park Day!

Awesome Kids’ & Adults’ Activities!

FOUR large-scale entertainment pieces, including a HUGE Navy Aircraft Carrier obstacle course, Klime Waltz, Chaos Obstacle Course and Candy Land Bounce House! ALL FREE!

Adults’ (and kids) will love this awesome Klime Waltz!

Face painters will turn you into your superhero or unicorn of choice and pumpkin painting activities will give you a head-start on fall decorating!

Amazing Performances!

Gymkana will amaze with their high-flying acts, Mandy the Clown will have your sides aching from the laughter (seriously – she’s that good!), UMD’s DaCadence a capella will sing their hearts out, Pelukyta the Clown will make us laugh and then entrance us all with some magic tricks and Joe’s Movement Emporium will have you moving with some hula-hooping fun!

Live Music & Fun Bands!

Music will be playing at all day long at College Park Day! What sort of beats will you be enjoying? So glad you asked! 😄 The Wild Anacostia Brass Band will be kicking things off, Superior Cling Trio will then play your jazz favorites only to be followed by the indie rock sounds of The Produce Section; Cumbia One will then get us moving with their rhythmic Latin sounds and The Unknowns will close out the fun day with their oldies pop and R&B (love their covers of Beyonce, Adele, Childish Gambino, Whitney Houston – just to name a few)!

Delicious Food & Craft Beer!

Think you’ll be in the mood for some BBQ? Well, you’re in luck as BBQ Bill will be there. Pizza more you thing? All good; Potomac Pizza will be there. Fish Tacos? Fishnet will be there. Amity Thai will be selling some delish Thai food, Maria’s Pupuseria will have pupusas to whet your appetite! And…the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Town Center Market will be on site selling some of the finest craft beer around!
