Storytime PopUp! @ The Waterhole

Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays and more at this innovation collaboration between PGCMLS & Mt. Rainier’s fabulous organic juice & smoothie joint, The Waterhole. Best for 0-5 years old. Curious? Click here for my review of The Waterhole!

Huge indoor ice skating rink with a warming hut and a snack bar – what else do you need?!

Toddler Time @ Art Works Now
Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Even the youngest children can explore a variety of age-appropriate art materials in a safe, fun environment. What to expect? Read my review of Toddler Time at Art Works Now.

OGT – Family Series: HUGO
Check out this critically acclaimed masterpiece from Martin Scorsese!
When: 11am-1pm
Where: Old Greenbelt Theatre, 129 Centerway, Greenbelt
Cost: $5 (kids under 12); $7 adults

Leap, Jump & Jam
A creative movement class for new dancers ages 3-5. Dancers will be introduced to the fundamentals of dance through fun movement games and exercises.
When: 11:15am-12pm
Where: Joe’s Movement Emporium, 3309 Bunker Hill Rd, Mt. Rainier
Cost: $10

Move & Groove 
Move & Groove is a jazz and hip hop movement class for dancers ages 6 – 9. Dancers will be introduced to the basis of hip hop and jazz through fun and challenging exercises.
When: 12-12:45pm

Cost: $10

Children’s Museum Mission Mobile (Ages 7+)
Kids will collaborate, communicate,and solve problems while on board this Mission Mobile Children’s Museum Bus as they become biologists, engineers, doctors,and physicists during missions!
When: 12-4pm (register for a specific 30-minute time slot)
Where: Whole Foods Market, Riverdale Park
Cost: Free! (Register)

College Park – City Tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The City’s annual event honors Dr. King’s legacy through a keynote address, performances, art and a City proclamation. Artwork and performances from local groups, schools and community organizations are a prominent feature of the Tribute event. Free event parking is available nearby in University Lots 1b and Z all day on Saturdays (excluding home football games). These lots are about a 2-5 minute walk to the venue. Paint Branch Creek
Check out this local acoustic musical collaboration rooted firmly in Americana. Paint Branch Creek casts a musical spell that delights fans of acoustic performance. (This is a kid-friendly show, especially as most of the performers have kids and will be bringing them!)
When: 7pm
Where: MilkBoy ArtHouse, 7416 Baltimore Ave, College Park
Cost: $10 advance/$12 day of


Art Drop-In at MilkBoy Arthouse 
Adults and kids alike are welcome to take part in fun arts projects facilitated by arts specialist Aaron Springer.

Maryland Performing Arts Academy Free Open House
(Geared towards Experience the NEW spring schedule at this performing arts studio! Enjoy demo classes (like DJ, photography, vocal training, dance/fitness classes) from some of our new instructors!
When: 1-4pm

Rise + Rhyme w/ Mr. Lilo
Sing, jump and dance with Mr. Lilo and his guitar! Enjoy original music and traditional songs in English and Spanish. This program is intended for children and their caregivers (no drop-off). See here for my review of this fun toddler program!
When: 9:30-10 Community Chat & Chew; 10-10:45am Children’s Performance

Cost: $5 suggested donation per child

Toddler Movement Playdate
Explore physical expression in an open dance studio with guided activities and exciting props to create a world of sensory exploration for toddlers and their accompanying adults. (We’ve taken this class & it’s a lot of fun! Lots of hula hooping, jumping, crawling, tumbling.)
When: 10:30am-12pm

Bookbinding from a Kit (Ages 10+)
Come and learn to bind a sketchbook or journal from one of our Shizen book binding kits! $10 includes one kit with book contents and boards, plus a Shizen art paper of your choice for the binding!
