Toddler Time @ Art Works Now
Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Even the youngest children can explore a variety of age-appropriate art materials in a safe, fun environment.

Storytime PopUp! @ The Waterhole

Open Gym at PG Sports & Learning Complex
If you haven’t checked this place out yet with your energetic 1-12 year old(s), check it out! This place is really great. HUGE. Two climbing walls. Two foam pits. Tons of equipment for curious ones to explore and blow off some steam. Very clean. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents are required to be on the floor with the children (Maximum 3 child:1 adult).

Kids’ Fishing Day
Novice Anglers 15 and under can learn how to cast a rod, identify types of fish and enjoy the experience of fishing! Fishing equipment provided. Catch and release fishing only. Register by calling: 301-497-5887.

Chinese/English Ready 2 Read Storytime: Ages 3-5

Calling all Preschoolers and Toddlers! Come and bust a move and shake your sillies out at the Greenbelt Bibliobop Dance Party. Bring your parents or caregivers and prepare to bop until we drop!

Old Greenbelt Theatre’s Family Movie Series: The Little Prince
When: 1:00 p.m.

UP Spring Porchfest
PorchFest is a family-friendly community music event, appropriate for all ages. The focal points will be a variety of musical acts ranging from acoustic to electric, and solo to ensemble. Maps will be distributed at the various porches on Saturday. You can also pick up a map from 4122 Woodberry Street after 10am on Saturday.
When: 2-6pm

Peeps, Croaks & Ribbits 
Communication is as big a deal for frogs and toads as it is for us humans.  Come learn why these noisy creatures of the night have such different voices and how you can tell them apart. Ages 8-10; register by calling 301-497-5887

An Evening with Patuxent’s Friendly Bats
Take an evening hike to see our resident bat population on the North Tract. All ages, registration required: 301-497-5887

SUNDAY (It’s gonna be hot!!!)

Smaland at College Park’s Ikea 

It’s hot.  Here’s a fun, indoor option!  Free, 1 hour, supervised, enclosed, safe & clean play area near the entrance. Enjoy some shopping or just relax/eat/peoplewatch at the restaurant upstairs while your young one(s) has a blast at Smaland. Children must be potty trained and be 37” to 54” tall (so children typically b/w ages of 3-6). Tips: (1) Best to arrive earlier on in the day as day progresses, so do the entrances lines; & (2) Join Ikea Family & kids get extra 30 minutes to play (depending on capacity) & you get free coffee!  Top it off with an ice cream afterwards!

Ellen E. Linson Splash Park
Fountains, small slides, obstacle course, water spray and more!  This place gets full during prime time so go early or call ahead to see if there’s a line to get inside.

Cost: $5/kids up to 17 years old; $6/adults (ages 2 & under are free) 

Rollingcrest-Chillum Splash Pool 
If it’s too hot to be outside but the kids still want to play in the water, Rollingcrest is always a great option!  It’s mostly indoors and is practically a water amusement park.  It’s fantastic though does get packed so would advise to either go right at the beginning or towards closing hours.
When: 12-4:45pm

Cost: 2 & under are free! Ages 3-17: $5. Adults:$6

Doll Study Club
Learn how to make your very own doll by joining the Riverdale Park Doll Study Club. Club Founder Emily Fanning shows girls ages 7+ how to make their own dolls, clothing, dollhouses and furnishings. Volunteer Jennifer Fairfax teaches knitting and other fabrics arts. Local artists show the girls how to make miniature paintings for their dollhouse, write a story for their doll, and use a sewing machine to make doll outfits. Inquire about their free summer camp during the last 2 weeks of June.
